Conversions for you to use when baking cookies

When reading a new recipe the first thing that you note is the list of ingredients. If the quantities are not in a measurement system with which you are fully familiar, then you may need to convert them into units you can use.

Even if they are in a familiar system, do make sure you are measuring the right way. Do the 'ounces' in your recipe mean volume (fluid ounces) or solid measure (avoirdupois)?
